Lodging Advisors was founded in 2004 by Sean Hennessey and Cheryl Boyer. The company was formed to provide clients with a level of service and sophistication which is generally not possible at larger firms.  Having worked at several large consulting organizations, we were frustrated that the role of top personnel is primarily that of salespeople, not problem-solvers. Large consulting corporations typically focus on providing a flow of work that can leverage junior staff to create a highly profitable enterprise. Inevitably, top managers become enmeshed with selling and internal firm management issues. 

Lodging Advisors was founded on an entirely different concept. We have set out to work with only a few clients at a time.  This will enable us to provide our clients with direct access to our principals, Sean Hennessey and Cheryl Boyer. By keeping our organization small, we do not need to spend significant time on marketing activities and firm administration that take away time that would otherwise be spent with clients. Our ambition is not create the largest hotel advisory group, but to be the best at what we do.

We have been surprised to find that there are substantial efficiencies inherent in our firm’s structure. Our experience and our contacts built over many years of leadership positions in the hotel industry give us quick access to many leaders in the field. We believe we can frequently gain information and perspectives that would not be available to junior staff. This access helps us reach conclusions quickly, which saves our clients time and money. We take pride in writing concise, persuasive reports –not bloated documents filled with boilerplate language and superficial analyses.

After several years in business, we are thrilled with the level of interest our firm has garnered and the roster of blue chip clients we have had the opportunity to serve. Recent clients include Marriott International, Host Marriott, Prudential Real Estate Investors, JP Morgan, Citigroup, the National Park Service and others. In fact, much of our business is now geared toward servicing the needs of a small stable of customers who retain our services regularly. We have been approached by larger consulting firms interested in our practice. But nothing is so satisfying as seeing our original vision being successfully accomplished. We look forward to continuing our business for many years to come.
